Diving and Medicine have always been linked, as I got into diving after destroying my shoulder (major surgery required) on vacation, and the only activity that seemed safe was SCUBA diving. I decided to turn pro, and decided I needed more medical background vs. just being a rescue diver. I became an EMT and later decided to go to medical school. I was also a veterinary technician with my wife prior to medical school. I am currently boarded in Internal Medicine, and have also done a Medical Informatics Fellowship at NYU School of Medicine.
My background is in the technology field, where I worked prior to going to medical school. I continue to work in technology in medical informatics (the fusion of computer science and medicine). I primarily do medical eduction software, such as virtual patient technologies.
I have been doing dive photography since 1997, using a manual Nikon Nikonus V camera on film. I plan on my next big dive vacation to turn to DSLR digital technology
